Production of Galifa contact lenses
At Galifa Contactlinsen AG, contact lenses are developed and manufactured entirely in Switzerland, at our St. Gallen site. The company combines modern precision technology with many years of experience in contact lens manufacturing to create high-quality, individually fitted vision solutions.
Individual custom manufacturing
Unlike industrially manufactured standard lenses, at Galifa every contact lens is individually manufactured. The process is based on precise measurement data from each patient’s eyes. Using these parameters, the lens design, material and geometry are calculated and manufactured with precision.
High-precision manufacturing
Production is carried out using state-of-the-art CNC precision machines, enabling extremely accurate machining of the lens surfaces. This allows even complex lens designs to be produced, ensuring an optimal fit, high visual quality and maximum wearing comfort.
Strict quality control
Every individual contact lens undergoes multiple quality checks during and after production. Parameters including curvature, diameter, surface quality and optical precision are carefully checked. The lens is only delivered to the specialist partner once it has successfully passed inspection.

The production process
From measurement data to delivery: every step is designed to ensure reproducible precision and the highest level of safety in the fitting process.
1 · Measurement data & analysis
Precise measurements form the basis of the process. Parameters such as corneal geometry, diameter, material selection and design requirements are recorded and checked.
2 · Design & calculation
Based on your data, the geometry, optics and material properties are calculated and individually adapted to each case, including complex fittings.
3 · CNC manufacturing
The lens is manufactured using state-of-the-art CNC precision machines. This produces surfaces and radii with the highest accuracy for an optimal fit and excellent visual quality.
4 · Finish & refinement
After machining, finishing steps such as polishing and final refinement follow – optimising comfort, wettability and material performance.
5 · Quality controls
Multiple checks verify factors including curvature, diameter, surface quality and optical precision. Only flawless lenses are approved.
6 · Packaging & delivery
Once inspection has been successfully completed, the lens is packaged and delivered to the specialist partner – quickly, transparently and reliably.
